ITINERARY
DAY 1 – To Cumbria Travel north to the edge of the Lake District and your overnight at 3* Shap Wells Hotel between Penrith and Kendal. DBB
DAY 2 – To Stranraer Across the border with time in the port town of Stranraer at the head of Loch Ryan. Check in for 2 nights at 3* North West Castle Hotel. DBB
DAY 3 – To Portpatrick a peaceful picture- postcard harbour town on the western shore of the Rhins of Galloway peninsula. Onto magnificent Castle Kennedy Gardens, 75 acres of spectacularly designed loch- side landscape which create a romantic garden paradise
DAY 4 – Aberdeen via Dundee Off to Dundee with its revitalised waterfront. Entrance is included to Captain Scott's ship, Discovery, which he sailed on his remarkable Antarctic expedition. Adjacent is the impressive V&A Dundee (entrance FOC - entrance fee applies to special exhibitions). Onto Aberdeen for 3 nights at 4* Sandman Signature Hotel. DBB
DAY 5 – Crathes Castle & Highland Beef Visit Crathes Castle, a magnificent 16th century tower house near Banchory which stands against a backdrop of rolling hills. Later travel to Lochton of Leys Farmhouse, home of Aberdeenshire Highland Beef to get up close and personal to this hardy native breed on a guided tour with tasting DAY 6 – Aberdeen A full day at leisure in the 'Granite City' with its unique architecture and seafaring heritage. Explore Old Aberdeen, with its cobbled streets and Footdee, a quirky fishing quarter
DAY 7 – Edinburgh Final day in Scotland and what better than to spend some time in the truly delightful capital. Continue to your final overnight at 4* Delta by Marriott Newcastle Gateshead DBB
DAY 8 After breakfast it’s time to head south to arrive home during the evening
