It is clear to see why Southern Poland attracts so many visitors – from rejuvenated Gothic Wroclaw to the sombre air of Auschwitz, the most notorious of the WWII concentration camps. And of course, the atmospheric former royal capital of Krakow, an architectural gem of a town with its vast market square and Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter. Included for 2024 is a centrally located hotel in Krakow Old Town plus an authentic Jewish Klezmer evening with dinner and music
ITINERARY
DAY 1 Head to Dover to cross to Calais. Travel through Germany for your overnight stop. BB DAY 2 A big travel day to the city of Wroclaw, full of charm and appeal. Overnight in the 4* Novotel Wroclaw Centrum. DBB
DAY 3 Wroclaw was only returned to Polish rule at the end of WWII. Join an included guided tour before departing for Krakow for your 4-night stay at the 3* centrally located Hotel Wyspianski.
Two nights buffet dinner in the hotel, one night on your own to eat where you choose (own expense) and an authentic Jewish evening with dinner and phenomenal live Klezmer music DAY 4 – 6 At leisure in Krakow with two included excursions and one optional excursion

Krakow's Jewish Quarter Enjoy a guided tour of Krakow's Jewish Quarter to learn about its tragic 20th century history and its revitalisation – includes a visit to the historic Remuh Synagogue. Time at leisure – perhaps a visit to Oskar Schindler’s former enamel factory (not included)
Auschwitz Time to reflect and understand the enormity of what happened here with a visit to Auschwitz, the authentically preserved memorial consisting of two parts – Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz 11 – Birkenau.
OPTIONAL EXCURSION
Wieliczka Salt Mines 2-hour guided tour of UNESCO listed Wieliczka Salt Mines with subterranean labyrinth of tunnels, cavernous chambers and the extraordinary chapel (NB approx. 3km walk with 800 stairs)
DAY 7 Head to the dramatic city of Dresden on the banks of the Elbe and your overnight hotel, the modern 3* Achat Hotel Dresden Altstadt. BB DAY 8 A guided tour reveals the secrets of this revitalised city, so badly damaged during WW2. The restoration is phenomenal and Dresden, 'Florence on the Elbe' is once again a magnificent 'jewel'. Onto the final overnight BB DAY 9 Back to Calais for the return to England
