Enjoy the golden sandy beach lined by a pleasant promenade, the sparkling blue Med, plenty of cafés and restaurants and lively Calella itself with its blend of old and new, offering plenty of attractions, shops and an historic old quarter to keep you busy should you tire of the sun and sea!
ITINERARY
DAY 1 Head to Dover to cross to Calais. Travel through France for your overnight stop. BB DAY 2 Through France and over the Pyrenees to Spain for your 5 or 6-night stay in Calella. DBB
DAY 3 – 6 (OR 7) At leisure in Calella with one or two included excursions and one optional excursion

Barcelona (All tours) A day in the Mediterranean city of Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. Steeped in history and tradition, culture and the arts flourish in Barcelona and there are many examples of the distinctive style of Gaudi, Spain's most famous architect. You'll find magnificent architecture and excellent shopping in the famous Ramblas. Colourful flower stalls and street entertainers abound, adding to the city's unique character. Optional guided city tour available
Girona – Tuesday (9 day tour only)
Northern Catalonia's largest city, Girona is a jewellery box of museums, galleries and Gothic churches, strung around a web
of cobbled lanes and medieval walls. Reflections of Modernista mansions shimmer in the Riu Onyar, which separates the walkable historic centre on its eastern bank from the gleaming commercial centre on the west. Pick up some Catalonian treats at the fabulous street market!
OPTIONAL EXCURSION
Besalu – Half day (All tours) A historic gem, brimming with character, Besalu is a magnificent example of a medieval town. Cobbled streets and facades and a wonderful bridge are the trademarks of Besalu
DAY 7 OR 8 Travel back through France to final overnight stop. BB
